Apple Crater
Beside one of the bumpy F roads in the Icelandic highlands you find this crater. Climbed up the top to enjoy the view of what can only be described as ”unearthly”! This landscape is by far the most spectacular I’ve seen.
If you’re ever visiting Iceland I really can’t recommend the highlands enough but bare in mind that you have to rent a 4×4 to go up there.
Fagradalsfjall eruption
As we had finished driving 2/3 of the ring road in Iceland we got the news that there was a new eruption of the fagradalsfjall volcano. At this time I knew I had to really hurry up not to miss this once in a lifetime moment.
After about 1 hour of hiking we stepped over the last hill and stared right in to a fully active volcano. I feel so lucky that we got to experience this!
